SOUL BUSINESS
Recently, within two weeks, one of my clients called in a prospective client into her new offer. We repositioned and tweaked her brand and her content strategy, but ultimately, what’s really transformed and allowed her to collapse time is the power of her belief. Something she reflected back to me was ‘I finally understood what you meant by holding the energy, I’ve held my energy’.
And really what’s underneath that, is she’s held the trust and belief in herself.
So, today’s conversation is about the power of belief, because when I see women in my world really skyrocket their business, collapse time and quantum leap, ultimately, what I truly believe sits behind that, is that the Quantum Leap happens when we believe faster.
There are so many studies showing the power of belief and the power of your thoughts. When you’re looking to collapse time, really look at your ability to call in your desired results. When we look at your thoughts carrying energy, they carry an energetic charge of frequency that can be felt throughout all elements of your business, that comes into how you’re showing up. If you are at a level in your business where you’re not getting the results you desire and you’re like “I’m doing all the things, I’m showing up on social media, I’m creating content, I’m making offers,” I really invite you to consider what do you believe about yourself?
What do you believe about your offers and is there a wobbliness to that energy?
Are you one toe in one toe out?
Do you believe in the value of your offer?
Do you believe in your ability to facilitate transformations for your clients?
Because you must first establish that rock solid certainty and confidence in you. You need to believe in you, before anyone else is going to believe in you. When you know with certainty that things just can not be different. When you desire that, you hold in your heart that it is possible for you. You engage with every element of your work in a much more meaningful way. You don’t waste so much time on the “What ifs”, if you don’t waste energy on self doubt, on these niggling thoughts, on procrastination and perfectionism.
When you’re in the energy of belief, you determine the how, you look for root causes, you make different moves.
You move differently because you’re operating from a different state of being and every successful female founder that I know. She made a powerful decision that it was going to work for her long before it ever did.
And so, I really want you to consider how you are going to be in response to your current reality? Or are you going to step into the leading energy in your life and in your business? Because if you are in a state where you’re responding like your level of belief is based upon your current circumstances, you’re outsourcing your power and you’re reliant on circumstantial power. And as a result, you can only call in more of what you already have because you’re operating from a state that has led you to create the results that you’ve already created.
So something needs to shift in your mind, in your state of belief, in yourself and in your work, in order to actually call in the results that you desire to create within your business. So I wanted to go a little bit further into this conversation today, and just to give you a bit more of an understanding of what really sits behind beliefs.
What we know is our subconscious beliefs and these perceptions are heavily rooted in our subconscious mind. So you may know that 95% of our thoughts and our behaviour is driven by our subconscious mind. So that means that if you’re trying to make a change or create a new result only relying upon your conscious mind you’re actually using 5% of your mind’s capability.
When we look at the concept of alignment, this is something that is spoken about so much within the coaching industry, alignment is essentially when you are getting clear on your feelings, your thoughts, and then you take aligned action from that state. It is all aspects of your state of being. The way that you think and the way that you feel are in alignment to the result that you desire to create.
So, if you are wanting to call in a beautiful soul-aligned client, you’re wanting to have your first $10,000 month in business, whatever the result that you’re looking for, are you thinking and feeling into the emotional state that you’re predominantly spending your time in and is that in alignment with your desired result?
Because if you’re saying that “I’m going to feel abundant, I’m going to feel joyful when I have that result.” Again, you’re outsourcing that power, and you’re not in alignment with it. As a result, the aligned action that you take is not going to be the same.
You can consider this when you’re feeling really joyful – you’ve had a really great morning, things are going your way. The way that you’re moving, the way that you’re inspired, your creative ideas, things are flowing, you’re in flow.
Whereas if you roll out of bed in the morning and you’ve gone to bed really late the night before, you roll out of bed, you stub your toe, then you spill your coffee and then you realise that someone in your DMs has ghosted you, and you allow that to really impact your state of belief in yourself and your emotional state.
I want to preface this by saying it’s okay to feel what you need to feel. But the important piece is being able to feel your emotions without becoming them. So, going back to that state of belief, if you’re operating from a place of “I believe in myself, I believe in my work, I believe that what I have to offer is of the highest service. I believe in my client’s level of resourcefulness. I believe that people are always watching me.”
Think about that. “I believe that people are always watching me”, if you have that belief, you are likely to be much more consistent in the way that you show up on social media. Even with a small audience. Let’s say you have 500 people in your audience. The business owner that believes people are watching her shows up every day. She writes content because she believes that people are hanging on what she has to say. She believes that she’s adding value.
The same business owner that has 500 people in her audience that believes that no one’s watching and believes that no one wants to buy from her. She shows up one day, she doesn’t show up the next. So you can see how our level of belief has such a direct impact on our behaviour.
Why I also want to have this conversation is, I think that when you are trying to build your business and you’re really focused on what you need to do. I know I need to create some posts. I know I need to get a branding shoot. I know I need to have an offer. But if you’re not operating from a state that is in alignment with the result you desire to call in, you’re much less likely to actually go and do those things. So when it comes to behavioural change, one of the things I truly believe in is identity level change and there are a number of different things that go into this. However, one of the most important pieces is how you perceive yourself. So your identity, your subconscious beliefs, what you believe you are capable of, your skill set and capabilities, and your environment plays a big part in your identity.
Are you surrounded by people who believe in you?
Do they believe in your potential and do they call you to meet it?
Are you surrounded by people that believe in your work or are you surrounded by people that are still at their nine to five jobs, don’t really get what you’re doing and aren’t necessarily supportive of your entrepreneurial dream because they can’t see the same vision you can?
So these are all really important pieces when it comes to identity shifts. But going back to that piece around *you already know what to do*.
What we often do is we use the model of ‘when I have time, then I’ll do this’. ‘When I have clients, then I’ll do that’. This is a good one, ‘when I’m confident then I’ll do it’. Then I will show up. The thing is, you’ve got it backwards.
Your best bet is actually asking yourself:
What do I need to believe about myself, about my work and about my offers in order to show up powerfully?
What are the thoughts that are in alignment with the desired result that I’m going to create?
How would the $10,000 version of me be operating?
What does she think about her business and what does she think about herself?
And then how would that version of me feel when that’s already in my reality? How would I feel and how can I flood my body with those feelings NOW?
Because ultimately, those subconscious beliefs that you may not even be aware of? They are impacting the thoughts that you think and the way that you feel the emotional state that you’re experiencing and operating from. So it’s like ‘Who do I need to be’ and then, ‘what do I need to do’, then you take aligned action from that state. Because when you’re in that state, you move so differently in the world.
And I wholeheartedly believe that everything is energy. Whenever you’re showing up, your words have energy, even if you’re sharing written content through your email list, through a blog, social media, wherever you’re posting your content, through your emotional state, it’s charged, right? And people can feel that from you. What I really want to get you to consider is, what do I believe? Because, you wouldn’t be trying to build your business, if you didn’t know at some level that this is going to work. You’re just scared. So we really need to get clear on what those beliefs are.
A lot of people have funky money stuff going on, right? You think you have to sacrifice all of these things in order to build your business to the level that you want. Maybe you aren’t going to be able to have it all, maybe you have had it modelled to you, maybe your parents fought over money. Maybe your parents worked really, really hard and you had a beautiful lifestyle but they were never around. You can see how what was modelled to you in childhood has such an impact on your subconscious beliefs. What a lot of people don’t realise is that you’re a grown adult now. However, unless you have done belief work, you’re operating off pretty well the same operating system that was formed between the ages of zero to seven. Look at it this way, when my little boy asks me for ice cream and marshmallows at 7am in the morning, I say no. What happened? He asked me for icecream at 7am. Why does he melt down? He attaches the story to that event, it’s his perception of what that means that causes him to melt down.
You can see how easily our beliefs are formed. The early changes in the early stages of our childhood. And ultimately what happens is they start with a thought or a feeling that’s derived from a past experience. So let’s look at that example. When I ask for ice cream at 7am in the morning, and Mum doesn’t give it to me, that makes me feel like I’m not loved. So, something happens and you attach meaning to it.
If I look at an example of big ones that show up in businesses, maybe there is something that happens to you while you’re in school, for example, you shared something and everybody laughed. So you made that mean something and as a result you don’t speak up. Maybe you were constantly told that you were too loud so you suppressed that part of your personality. Ultimately what you think and feel is derived from those past experiences, you think and feel that over and over and over again until it’s become habitual. And at that point it becomes an inherent belief, those beliefs then create your perception of the world and that impacts the way that you view the world. And because it’s largely subconscious, it affects everything. It affects your relationships, it affects your behaviours, it affects your business and everything in your life.
So, if you want to change a belief or perception, first you need to change your state of being. Energy first, always, to change your state of being is essentially changing your energy. You need to shift the emotional state and the frequency that you’re operating at. And to do that you really need to have that clear intention. You need to be clear on your why. Why are you building your business? Why is it important to you? And then we really want to string that with an elevated emotion, right? The emotion is the piece that charges that we need to have to support us in transforming our subconscious patterns, the body doesn’t speak in words, it speaks in feeling.
If you’re starting to realise that actually there’s some funky beliefs going on, feelings of inadequacy that constantly come up for you in business. Maybe you’re really on edge when you’re messaging a prospective client in the DMs. Because you are moving from the belief that they’re not going to buy so you’re going into that convincing energy and you’re constantly refreshing it, you’re checking in on people.
You need to become aware of the thoughts that you think over and over again. So consider this:
What thoughts are you going to catch today?
What thoughts are you goung to be more aware of?
If you’re experiencing an emotion such as fear, frustration, anger, grief, sadness, rage, if you’ve got any of those lower vibrational emotions flooding your body, feel into it and just get curious with it.
Why are you here?
What is it that I’m making this mean?
When someone you know doesn’t buy from you or ghost you in the DM, what do you want to make it mean?
Because let’s say someone doesn’t respond to you, show it away. You could make it mean that you’re not good enough and they don’t want to buy food from you. Or you could make that same experience mean that that person’s probably busy and I’m sure they’ll get back to me.
Can you feel how that belief is going to drastically change your emotional state?
It is going to impact how you feel, how you respond, what action you take substantially. The power of belief is so incredibly important in your business. I know for me, ultimately what has led to so much of my success over the years is constantly doing that.
Building your business can feel hard. You’re most likely going to procrastinate or fall into some sort of self sabotaging behaviour along the way. Having a mentor to support, guide and help you move through these moments is priceless. When you are confident, self assured, know who you serve, and how you can help them people can feel that energy. This will ripple out into every element of your business. Continuing to become conscious about this and start consciously programming beliefs that are empowering and are supportive of where you are going.
