SOUL BUSINESS
This conversation is one of those, “I love you, this might sting a little, but I know that it’s for your own good. And I really invite you to look at it’, types of conversations. I’ve recently been producing a lot of content around these topics because it’s what I’m seeing with my clients and it’s also conversations like the one we’re going to have today that truly have lit the biggest fires within me during the moments when I needed it the most. So depending on how long you followed me or even listening to this podcast if you’ve been around for a while, you know that I am the biggest advocate for being a woman who leads herself, one who takes radical self-ownership and does ‘the work’.
Because I think that when it comes to being able to move and gain momentum in your business, this is one of the most underestimated skills. There are so many business owners who outsource their power away to strategy thinking that that’s ultimately what they need. But when you can learn to radically lead yourself, any strategy will work.
There’s also this trend happening right now online, and I don’t know if it’s other industries, but I see it in the coaching industry a lot. This trend of ‘it gets to be easy’. Just let it be easy and while that is true, it can be really deceiving and tricky to navigate without context.
When we come into this work, whether it’s for personal growth, working on your business, building out strategies, refining your message, showing up on social media, or anything that feels big, anything that stretches us, we tend to think well, because it’s not easy, that means it’s not working or it’s not meant for me. And that simply isn’t true.
Ultimately it’s the edge of your growth and sometimes when we’re on the edge, it doesn’t feel easy. It actually feels really hard. And this is where a lot of people will think that means it’s not working because it’s not easy.
It’s not that it’s not working. It’s that you need to transform your expectations when it comes to growth and understand that if you’re on the edge of your comfort zone OF COURSE, there’s going to be times where it’s challenging because you’re walking the path that is uncertain, aka your GROWING!! You haven’t been there before. So naturally, your mind freaks out.
What you’re doing is you’re starting to create new neurological pathways in your brain, which you haven’t had before. So think of it this way. If you’re walking along the path, there could be a path that you’ve walked a long time which is paved, it’s beautifully manicured, and then there’s a path and it’s like out in the wild, there’s lions everywhere. It’s overgrown, and you’re blazing a new path, right? You’re a trailblazer. This is what it means to grow. It means that you may still be on the right path, but there are times where it feels a little bit more challenging or sticky.
So the way in which I’ve been able to continue to grow is to understand this and to continue to meet my edge and breathe through the expansion to lean in while most lean out.
Every single successful person that I have worked alongside has at some point become unapologetic when it comes to putting in the work. They’ve got that determination to actually put in the work required to get to where they want to get so to become the person that can hold it all, to become the leader that people choose to follow, to develop the resilience, the tenacity, the emotional intelligence to support them where they want to go. So this conversation is inviting you to not be so afraid of putting in ‘the work’. If you want to change your life, you have to be willing to change your life.
And that requires you to change the way that you do life. If you want a deeper sense of fulfilment, more influence, more impact, more abundance, more personal power, if you want to see your bank account grow if you want to attract and more soul-aligned clients, if you want to step into the life that you know that you’re deserving and worthy of, the bottom line is it requires a different version of you. What got you here will not get you there.
A new life. A new level in business requires new habits. It’s really as simple as that.
May this be a loving slap in the face to MOVE. Step up, raise your standard, my love. I want to really usher you into a conversation about the little moments in your life that you think don’t matter. The ones when no one’s watching, the things that you continue to put off. The times where you tell yourself “Oh, it doesn’t matter. I’ll do it tomorrow. I’ll do it next week. I just don’t feel like it”.
These are the little things that I’m calling you into to look at today. Because these are the things that are responsible for what is showing up in your life and in your business right now.
And ultimately, these are the very same things that are blocking you from what you’re trying to call in. It’s who we choose to BE in the small moments that really matters.
Who are you when you wake up in the morning?
What thoughts do you allow yourself to think?
Or do you reframe them to realign them with where you’re going?
Where when you say you’re going to do something do you follow through?
How many times do you pull out right before you cross the finish line because you think it’s not working?
Who are you in your relationship?
Who are you in those moments?
When the camera’s not rolling?
Because what I want to make really, really clear is, I believe that this is one of the most confronting conversations because it calls us out of our own bullshit. The thing is, and I’m saying this with so much love because I’ve lived it and I continue to live it every single day, these are the things that I’ve had to look up to clean my energy leaks up. There’s some of the most confronting things that I walked with in both my personal life, in my business, and in my relationships as a mother.
If you’re not where you want to be in terms of your finances, how are you currently managing your money?
Are you always running late?
Is the washing piling up?
Are you saying that you want to cultivate more relationships and you want to have more intentionality with the connections on social media but then in your real life, you’re not actually upholding relationships with the people that are there. You’re not getting back to your friends, your family etc.
Because the reality is that when we clean up the stuff that we think doesn’t matter, we actually regain SO much energy.
We regain so much energy back because these things really impact the way that you see yourself. So I really want you to reflect with me now.
Who are you in these micro moments of your day?
When you say you’re going to do something, do you follow through?
How do you show up for yourself when no one’s watching?
What do people feel from you when they’re in your presence?
When you hold yourself to a higher standard in these elements of your life is what creates the most monumental shifts.
It is about becoming a woman that every day leads her to grow a little more, a little more, a little more. Because ultimately if we look at the concept of everything being energy, the universe is always watching. And whatever it is that you stand for in your business, whatever industry you’re a part of, you are leading people. This type of work, true leadership, is you acting in integrity with your message, because people can feel that. When it comes to your clients and the level of client that you call into your life, if you want to magnetise people into your world, you need to be in integrity. You don’t attract what you want. You attract who you are being and what you are.
So when you’re not on social media, how are you operating in your life? Are you sticking to your word? Because everything is always responding and matching what you are doing and how you operate.
So, I’m really calling you to take a deep reflection and consider who am I being?
And please do this from a place of love. There’s no shame here. This is simply a journey of growth. And the first step to growth is drawing loving awareness, being radically honest and taking radical responsibility for how things are in this moment right now.
If you’ve gotten this far into this blog post, can I just honour you? Because to me, that in itself demonstrates who you are and where you’re going and how committed you are to this journey of growth. Because if there are things in your life that aren’t working, where you feel like you’re showing up and you’re doing all the things and it’s still not working, you’re not seeing the results that you desire. Ultimately there is something that’s out of alignment.
Take a moment here to really feel into that version of you.
Who is the version of you that already has everything that you desire?
How does the version of you operate?
That already has these soul aligned clients working with her, you’re already leading them. You already have an engaged community on social media. You already are hitting the financial milestones.
How does the $10,000 a month version of you operate?
How does the $20,000 month version of you operate?
How does she lead herself?
Who was she when she’s not what when no one’s watching?
How do you feel about yourself?
In the micro moments, what types of habits do you uphold?
What are your standards and what is the gap?
Because your responsibility is to close that gap and if you can feel that version of yourself. You have an idea of the woman that you want to be, you have an idea of your CEO identity. And when you can feel that, you can feel the pulse, you can feel the essence, you know that she’s already within you. Every time you act out of integrity with that version of yourself. You let yourself down a little part of that version of you gets crushed and this is where it also jeopardises our self trust, our self belief and our self confidence. Because ultimately you are where you are in your life and in your business because of how you have been operating up until this point.
Can you allow your business to initiate you into the woman that you’re here to be? Every time you fall out of alignment or out of integrity with that vision. Choose to own it. Choose to take radical responsibility, choose to learn from it and then choose differently. It is the decisions that you make in the micro moments of your day that matter most; you’re not going to nail it every single time because you’re human. We are not pursuing perfection. It’s about growth and growth is messy. It’s messy. It’s not linear. I’m calling you into a higher level of self-responsibility, because everything you desire exists and the only way you’re going to get there is to become the woman that leads herself to create it.
